Dan Batovici is the recipient of an ERC Consolidator Grant 2025 for the CLAIM project "Secondary Pseudepigraphy," and also the recipient of the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) START Award 2024 for the team project GenAut | Generative Authority.
Before moving to Vienna in 2024 to start the GenAut project, Dan was a research fellow and instructor at KU Leuven, where he also earned his PhD in 2015. He also held various Visiting Fellowships at the Hill Museum and Manuscript Library, Dumbarton Oaks, Oxford, Cambridge, and most recently Princeton.
Dan is co-hosting the Text and Transmission Research Seminar (TeTra), which hosts online papers from current research projects on various manuscript cultures and historical contexts (check out the Youtube channel), and co-editor of Reviews of Biblical and Early Christian Studies, an on-line platform for book reviews in these fields.
